barricade would be ideal for a banner. We'd have to get others at the barricade to agree to help us hold it up.

Lol I dunno how Gerard would feel about that either. & yeah barricade would be best because in the back you have to hold it up which would hurt after a while.

Indeed.
So, now, question: Does anyone have ideas that are not a banner or book?
Just so we have more options. XD

-reviving this-
I don't. Other than throwing random shit on stage-- nope.

-Attempting to Revive again-
Okay, so my suggestion is as follows:
Two books, one for the entire band as a whole, not birthday related. The other will be just birthday wishes for Gerard. We'll get people to send in shit, and I'll put the book together. If I don't find some way to get the book to the venue before the concert, I'll include a few blank pages at the end for people in line to write shit on.
In addition to the books, an epic poster which reads "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERARD" that we'll get the people at the barricade to hold in front of the barricade. We'll bring sharpies and shit so people can sign that in line, too, and toss it on stage at some point during the show.
Is everyone down with that?

I like the idea of making a book, so fans from around the world can send drawings, letters or things like those; and it would be great if is one bday wish for gerard and some kind of hello for the rest of teh band

this idea sounds fantastic! i think like a personalized banner or sign would be really cool, and as long as we got it by the barricade, and eventually on stage he'd probably really like it. Also i think the book idea is also really special. Like the band as a whole is really inspirational (at least to me) and it'd be awesome for other people to be able to sort of share in that... btw... i'm kind of new here. i've been part of the MCRmy for a bit but after tsn got shut down it took me a bit to sort of find my way back into things... but my name is krystin and yea this project shall be epic :]

Welcome new members! Don't worry about being new, this site was made spur of the moment to help plan this, I think we've all been sort of wandering around since TSN got shut down.
Okay, so it looks like everyone's pretty into the banner idea. My cousin and I are going to line up as early as humanly possible in order to attempt to get barricade. If not, we'll have to charm whoever is at barricade to hold the banner in front of it for us. Also, we should agree that if any of us gets barricade we should be super, super nice to security in case we end up needing them to deliver these gifts for us.
As far as constructing the banner goes, we'll need a good few feet of butcher paper, or maybe even a couple yards of fabric, as that would be easier to keep together. Depending on how much it would cost, I could probably get this and put the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERARD" on it. (Unless someone else wants to, feel free to tell me I'm being a control freak. Also, I'm in college so I don't need to be buying everything, lol)
I really, really like the book idea. I can easily spend a few dollars on two small binders and some page protectors. My school's got a nice laser printer, though I'd have to plan to have this done before the week of the concert as I've got finals that week.

So, from what I understand, we're making one book for Gerard's birthday and then one book of letters and stuff to the entire band?
For the second book, why don't we make a kind of theme? Like... okay, originally I was going to do this for The Used, but I guess I can share this idea with you guys too. MCR formed in 2001, and 2011 marks 10 years since they formed. So we could make a 'Decade of My Chemical Romance' book full of fan pictures and stories and memories. We could do a couple pages for each year.
Just an idea... I think it'd be really awesome though.

Yep, two books!
It's a good idea, though some bits would be sort of difficult. Like, the band formed in 2001, yes, but it was late 2001, and Bullets didn't come out until 2002, it would be hard to find much media from 2001. Hell, anything pre-2004 would be sort of hard to track down. And bullets-era fans who would have stories to share seem far and few lately.
A theme might be fun but I'm not sure if a timeline is the best way to go about it. Let's see what others think, though.

It doesn't need to be a timeline. That's just a suggestion. But something in honor of them being together for 10 years would be pretty awesome, I think.
And if we do do it that way, we can always combine 2001-2003.

True, true. How would we format it, though? Like, fan pics/memories from each year, just placed in order? I'm a little lost, but then, I'm basically falling asleep at my computer so that might have something to do with it.

Yeah, like a couple pages for each year. I think it'd look cool as a collage. Like, not all neat and pretty, but sort of mash all the pictures and stories together. And include main photoshoots of them from that time period just to show how much they've changed and grown up over the years.
